Australian hip-hop is going through an unprecedented rise. At the forefront of this movement is Kwame, an artist that has followed an incredible breakout 2018 with a year that has shown all the signs of an artist constantly evolving.

2019 will be no different for Ghana via Sydney rapper, who released the visuals for his latest single ‘NOBODY feat. E^ST’ along with the announcement of his first 2020 tour dates. The ‘Get Home Safe’ tour marks the artist’s first headline dates since his sold-out EP tour in early 2019 and will find Kwame play his biggest venues as a headline artist.

It was only a matter of time before Kwame rose to these larger spaces, the multi-talented artist spent last year honing his craft through selective live shows and two sharp singles, ‘STOP KNOCKING @ MY DOOR’ and ‘NOBODY feat. E^ST’. On the latter, Kwame explains that “the track itself is a huge reflection of the years I've had thus far, seeing many people come and go. It's a reminder for myself and anyone else to listen to yourself, outside opinions are irrelevant.”

These themes ring true in the single’s newly released cinematic visuals. Directed by Zain Ayub and Kwame, the stark short film follows the journey of a young Ghanaian boy facing hardships while growing up in Sydney.

'NOBODY feat. E^ST' is the second single taken from Kwame's third extended play out now via Def Jam ANZ // https://defjamanz.lnk.to/NOBODYPR --- An Art Film by Zain Ayub & Kwame Directed by: Zain Ayub & Kwame Edited by: Zain Ayub & Kwame Produced by: Virtue Film Art Direction: Zain Ayub & Kwame DOP: Jack Shepherd 1st AC & Production Assistant: Stefano Geranio SFX: Anika Chauhan Sound Design: Zain Ayub & Kwame Mix and Master: Matt 'xiro' Fioravanti Colourist: Fergus Rotherham Original Track: Kwame - NOBODY ft.

The choice to shoot majority of the film in Marrickville reflects its raw texture, sense of realness and celebrates the multicultural background the suburb holds - which is synonymous with the films ideologies,” says Kwame. “The themes explored represent the diffusion of cultural and societal gaps thereby creating a more universal and globalist experience. The messages within the film are that race, age and status shouldn’t matter when one's back is against the wall.”

The narrative behind the video is yet another indication of Kwame’s multi-disciplinary excellence, one which is only set to grow in 2020.
