Grinspoon Gear Up For New Record and Tour

Australian rock icons Grinspoon are gearing up for their latest tour in the best way possible, bringing along modern Aussie underground acts The Hard Aches, Gooch Palms and Bugs for the ride. The tour, kicking off on 11 October, will coincide with the release of their Chemical Hearts vinyl record, featuring a tracklist that will treat fans to a nostalgia-filled compilation of the band’s favourite songs.

Over 20 years, Grinspoon have captured the hearts of Australians with their unapologetically grungy charm, all starting with their submission of the track Sickfest to triple j Unearthed in 1997. A subsequent whirlwind of success found the band receive many accolades in addition to playing a slew of festivals, including the iconic Big Day Out, in which they performed at seven times.

It is this live prowess that allows Grinspoon to become one of Australia’s finest bands, a reputation that will undoubtedly prove itself during the Chemical Hearts tour. Kicking off in Fremantle on October 11, the tour will continue through to Perth, Melbourne, Canberra, Hobart, Adelaide, Wollongong, Newcastle, Sydney, and Gold Coast, before wrapping up in Brisbane on 8 November.

The accompanying record is also set to give a taste of what’s to come on the Chemical Hearts tour, with the lead vocalist Phil Jamieson explaining that “The tour comes with the crazy new vinyl record which features (arguably) some of our favourites on wax. Joining us are absolute legends of the game The Hard Aches, Gooch Palms and Bugs. These concerts will have a very exciting atmos due to the individual scintillating performances by these amazing acts. We’re super excited to be doing this tour. We don’t get out much anymore and our last one focused primarily on our first record and this one will take a more broad approach to the little nuggets of songs that came between 1995 and 2013. “
