Must-See Brisbane Gigs in October 2023 / by Jack Gobbe

This October is shaping up to be one of our favourite months for gigs in Brisbane so far this year, with a diverse set of long overdue international acts accompanied by some local Aussie faves. Here’s what you need to see:

Bakar // The Tivoli (11th October)

The prolific voice of singer/songwriter Bakar is not one to be missed. You’ll catch us front row at the Tivoli singing “Hell N Back” this October. Grab tickets here.

Masego // The Fortitude Music Hall (12th October)

It’s hard to describe what genre of music Masego falls into. Some days it’ll be funk, other jazz, or maybe hip-hop. Often it’s a beautiful blend of all three. Whatever Masego has in store for us, we’re keen to hear his unique flavour of music at the Fortitude Music Hall.

Redveil // The Outpost (15th October)

Redveil has taken over the underground rap scene in the past two years. Fresh off a string of collabs with Danny Brown, JPEGmafia, and Denzel Curry, the 18-year-old rapper takes over the Outpost this October.

Phony Ppl  // The Triffid (18th October)

Phony Ppl popped up on our radar at the beginning of the year, and have been in constant rotation throughout our playlists. Catch the funky Brooklyn five-piece at the Triffid.

Earl Sweatshirt  // The Princess Theatre (19th October)

Earl Sweatshirt’s evolution over the past decade has been one to admire. The Odd Future alumni has constantly reimagined his sound with each album, and we’re stoked to see him return to Aus this October at the Princess Theatre.

DMA’s  // The Tivoli (24th October)

Prolific Aussie darlings DMA’s are back on home turf, this time wielding their fourth album “How Many Dreams”. Fresh off a UK run that saw them play at Reading and Leeds, the band will make their Brisbane return at the Tivoli this October.
